In January 2005, Boxer joined US Rep. Tubbs Jones of Ohio in filing a US Congressional objection to the certification of Ohio's Electoral College votes in the 2004 US presidential election; the Senate shot the objection down 74-1

Upon their election in 1992, Boxer and Dianne Feinstein became the first two female Jewish US Senators
